President Corazon “Cory” Aquino’s celebrated farewell

For the subject Writing for Radio and Television

From Tita Cory’s (as what his supporters called her) death, chapter of our lives reopened.

All of us knew that she was the widowed wife of the late Ninoy Aquino, and mother of Sen. Noynoy Aquino and showbiz celebrity Kris Aquino. What else? She was the instrument on obtaining our freedom and sovereignty for Pres. Ferdinand Marcos, the first female president in the Philippines and of Asia, who gave birth to democracy. But then, every day, unfolding memories for Tita Cory are waxing.

Even wee situation has been said.

The television stations in the country made documentaries and special coverage of her.

“The Filipinos are worth it”, said Kris Aquino on a nicrological service done at the Manila Cathedral were the remains of the late Pres. Cory was at hand.

Tita Cory’s death made history as people marked their way no not leaving her niche until her last farewell.

The burial was peaceful as the history repeats itself for the march to Edsa People Power I, nothing is harmed. She is our strength and source of peace.

I may not be personally sees Cory for the last time but I gave tribute by watching the GMA news special coverage, “Salamat Cory”.

Different ambassadors came to give honor for our very own Pres. Cory for her contribution to world peace.

I will not heard anymore the interlude of Tita Cory in her speeches, “Mga minamahal kong kababayan”.

Marching to Edsa for North Greenhills, I have been part of the people Power III. Tita Cory was there on stage, giving her speech. She has been very supportive to democratic country. That moment is the fist time I saw her with my blurry eyes, but sees the yellow dress she wore that very day.

The people has peaceably assembles outside the Manila Cathedral not for the call for people power against dictator, but for their last see on Tita Cory.

Most of them wore yellow, some were clack. Last Wednesday, I wore black in mourned for Tita Cory’s death.

The mourners never mined the rain-shine weather, for as long as they are endured with the situation and of the pain of the long stand. They will stay for Tita Cory.

Different places have kept for Tita Cory’s last look: La Salle Greenhills Gymnasium, Edsa, Makati City and Manila Cathedral.

Kris said, it is their mother who wanted a private funeral but then refuses because they wanted people’s funeral for the love of their mother. “If the Filipinos really love my mom, they are the ones to be on people’s funeral rather that a state funeral”, she added.

Ballsy, Tita Cory’s oldest daughter courageously tells her mom to rest for righting the cancer for almost 16 months.

Tita Cory, in her real essence, is the simple mother of her children and of the wife of Ninoy Aquino who paid tribute to the transformation of Dictatorship to a Democratic form of government. Cheers!
